His Bolero was defined 'neoteric'
And the critics unrefined and hysteric
Alas Ravel, could not see back then
No chance in hell would it be a ten
Without hair, front and behind from Bo Derek

Arthur Mendelsohn, Moorestown, NJ

When Pachibel and his band debonair
Played a Canon for folks at the fair,
'mid the cows pigs and chicks,
and all that food served on sticks,
They lent the place some savoir-faire!

Kathy Plumb, Minneapolis, MN

Brahms had a good day at the fair,
Eating cheese curds (he liked Camembert.)
He took in the exhibits,
Saved some time just to kibitz,
And lullabied a wee babe he saw there.

Kathy Plumb, Minneapolis, MN

At noon at the fair J. S. Bach
looked for food for himself and his flock.
"I find corn dog and cheese curd,
but not a place where my sheep herd
may graze safely on this whole block!"

Kathy Plumb, Minneapolis, MN

There was a composer named Mozart,
Who wanted to see corn and oats art,
So he went to the fair,
With Arthur Honegger,
Saying, "I also like viewing the goats, Art."

Stuart Rosen, Minneapolis, MN

Old Bach, who was quite contrapuntal,
Was astonished by cake called a funnel.
Said he, "For a kick,
Try my 'Fugue on a Stick'
Chased by 'Crispy Chorale Anti-Phonal!'"

Paul Jacobson, St. Paul, MN

At the fair, he craved cheese curds and Coke,
but the prices made Johann Bach choke,
"O Mein Gott!" cried the man,
"I don't think that I can
Eat much more before going ba-roke!"

Joe Fishbein, West St. Paul, MN

Young Franz Schubert, on a State Fair tour,
loved to eat Pronto Pups by the score.
The first three were magic,
but the feast soon turned Tragic,
When he couldn't keep down number four.

Joe Fishbein, West St. Paul, MN

Said Marcus Aurelius to Frederick Delius,
"Let's eat our way 'round the fair.
We'll try salad of Caesar
That we'll down with a tweezer
And corn dogs cooked oh so rare."

Lou Harris, Minneapolis, MN

T'was at the State Fair, that J.S. Bach
First contemplated, sheep in a flock.
Sheep may safely graze, he thought,
But me, thru the food tents? I think not.

Sandy Stai, Clear Lake, MN
