To the tune of: "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing"
Listen
"Hark!" The retail angels sing, "Glory to the spending fling!"
Buy with plastic for each child
Bottom lines are reconciled
Joyful the retailers rise
Dollar signs in all their eyes
With Al Greenspan they proclaim:
"Spend spend spend, L.A. to Maine!"
"Hark!" The retail angels sing, "Glory to the spending fling!"
Hail the Mega Mall's increase
As each shopper it does fleece
Temporary joy it brings
As it foists on them more things
Wild the prices! "BUY! BUY! BUY!
'Til you drop. You'll never die"
With stuff we will fill the earth
Giving a false sense of worth
"Hark!" The retail angels sing, "Glory to the spending fling!"

Debt by Keynesians adored
Debt the everlasting lord
Late in time, the bills come due
And we'll then our spending rue
In windowed envelopes we'll see
How we'll end in bankruptcy
The car is seized, our house foreclosed
Paying interest through the nose
"Hark!" The retail angels sing, "Glory to the spending fling!"

So we'll not use plastic dough
In the trash the cards all go
We will make the gifts ourselves
And we'll play the Christmas elves
Leave the video games alone
We'll sing carols in our home
With the savings buy a tree
Happy that we are debt free
"Hark!" with no regrets we'll sing, "We didn't do the debt-crazed thing."

To the tune of: "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing"
Listen
Windy wisp of wintry white
Shining in the sparkling light
Softly settling through the town
Brightening spirits all around
Scarves and parkas, caps aglow
Bright like flowers through the snow.
So the season sends our way
Blessings of a Winter's day
So the season sends our way
Blessings of a Winter's day

Wreaths and trees and Santa bells
Open hearts and full food shelves
Shops and candles, lights and logs
Chocolate, cider, spiced eggnog
Friends who come from near and far
Lights that mingle with the stars
Songs that rise in joyful flight
Blessings of a Winter's night
Songs that rise in joyful flight
Blessings of a Winters night.

Ribbons, bows and tape and foil
Christmas time and constant toil,
Wrapping, packing, mailing cards
Crowded lots and boulevards
High above in silent skies
Angels watch with laughing eyes
Sing their song the truth to tell
Bless them for they all mean well.
Sing their song the truth to tell
Bless them for they all mean well.

To the tune of: We Wish You a Merry Christmas
Listen
We wish you would marry this one
We wish you would marry this one
We wish you would marry this one and drop your career

He's tidy, he sings to you and he's thin;
good and tidy and Christian and a head full of hair
Oh bring us our daughter's wedding
Oh bring us our daughter's wedding
Oh bring us our daughter's wedding and we'll buy the beer

Refrain
We won't go until we get a son
We won't go until we get a son
We won't go until we get a son, bring a son-in-law here

Refrain
We wish you would marry this one
We wish you would marry this one
We wish you would marry this one--or else that one there

To the tune of: Jingle Bells
Listen
Speeding through the snow,
To Grandma's house - we're late!
My brother and I know,
We have an awful fate.
All of them are there
Just waiting to attack.
Our relatives who give us chills
Have once again come back.

CHORUS:
Oh, uncle Bob, cousin Lynn
Grandma Betty Sue.
When will my parents ever know
the torture I go through, Oh!
Sarah, Bill, Clara, Dick
the names go on and on.
I really dread this time of year
'cuz visits are so long.

I got out of the car
To find them all around.
Everyone from Gail to Stan
Came at me with a bound.
With lots of crushing hugs
And sloppy kisses too.
I was pulled out of the freezing cold
Into the family zoo.

CHORUS
Grandpa Jerry lectured me
On how to milk a goat.
Aunt Suzie gabbed forever 'bout
A hole in her wool coat.
They said the strangest things
From aardvarks to the rain.
My relatives did not shush up
I thought I'd go insane.

CHORUS
After jabbering all night
We finally said farewell.
We climbed into our car
And drove away pell-mell.
I love my family lots
But there is truth to hear.
I hope I am far, far away
At Christmas time next year.

CHORUS
